“Laughing is and always will be the best form of therapy”
It’s true that laughter is the strongest medicine; it keeps people physically and emotionally healthy. Let us ask ourselves, when was the last time we burst out laughing from the bottom of our hearts and found immense happiness? Some people may have answers like two days ago, two months ago, or some might even say two years ago. In today’s busy and fast-paced world, life tends to be so difficult that laughter becomes rare and unusual. However, by seeking out ways for laughter, we can add years to our lives as well as find happiness.
Laughter has numerous therapeutic benefits, including reducing stress by triggering the release of endorphins, boosting the immune system, improving mood, and promoting social connection and bonding. It can also help with pain management, enhance cardiovascular health, and improve overall quality of life. Exploring the physiological and psychological benefits of laughter, such as stress reduction, pain relief, and mood enhancement, enhances our physical and emotional health. Examining how laughter strengthens social bonds, helps foster empathy, and promotes strong interpersonal communication among individuals. By analysing the role of laughter in entertainment, including its use in comedy, sitcoms, and stand-up comedy, we can find ways to laugh in our serious and stressful lives. Exploring how to incorporate laughter into daily life can improve overall well-being and resilience.

Find Opportunities for Laughter
Life is full of ups and downs, pains, and struggles. The best possible weapon to overcome all our troubles is a smile. It's true when we say that laughter is contagious, it promotes happiness and elevates the moods of our near and dear ones. A wholehearted smile spreads a positive vibration and brightens up the entire surrounding area. If we always remain with a smile on our faces, we can find ways to make our situations better and turn our bad day into a good one. Laughter can be used in various ways. A smile when taking a selfie with our friends or colleagues in between our work-hours or class hours, giggles when we share humorous anecdotes or think about a funniest moment happened in our life that we found amusing, when watching a sitcom on TV, a smile when we read or write something that would connect us emotionally, laughing when we play fun games—all of the above are opportunities for laughter, would reduce our pain and are a great form of stress relief, even if it is for a short period of time.
A kind smile is a warmth for our hearts. A simple smile connects people of different ethnic backgrounds. When you look at someone, make an effort to smile. Instead of looking down, look up and smile at people who walk past you in the street, the person serving you breakfast, or co-workers you share your table with, which will have a pleasant effect on others. Make an effort to find something each day that makes you laugh. Try to find ways to laugh by paying attention to children who laugh at ordinary things they play, talk, or do. Through all these means, a minute of laughter heals our pain, promotes positivity, and lightens up our day.
