Mental health is one of the vital topics that one must discuss. It is important to take care of our mental health as much as we do for our physical health for a happy and satisfied life. Therapy is a procedure in which we talk to a mental health professional to find clarity in our thoughts and navigate our emotions. It can help a person balance and navigate their mental wellbeing. It provides a secure environment for the person seeking therapy to explore their emotions and enables them to have a clear and satisfied state of mind.

How Beneficial is Therapy?
1. Therapy can be beneficial in various aspects and can help a lot emotionally. It will offer a supportive and safe environment where one can express their feelings without hesitating. The emotional encouragement of a therapist will be very helpful in coping with stress, anxiety and depression.
2. Therapy also enables us to cope with our problems, manage them and navigate ourselves to the right solution. Such a skill is valuable in life, and helpful in dealing with stress and life transitions. When one has better coping skills, they can handle the problems in their life better on an everyday basis.
3. Since therapy provides emotional support and better coping skills, it eventually encourages one to explore themselves and discover their real self. It helps the person understand and reason their thoughts, emotions and behaviours. This is how a person becomes aware of themselves and learns what and how to help themselves grow.
4. As much as therapy helps us to improve and grow from within, it improves and gives us a better insight into our communication skills as well. Good communication skill leads to better understanding while talking to other people, resolving conflicts among their near and dear ones, establishing boundaries whenever they feel uncomfortable and building transparent relationships.
5. As much as therapy is beneficial for us, taking regular therapy sessions is highly beneficial for the long term as well. It enhances our ability to handle stress better and resolve the conflict sooner. This quality is known as resilience, where the person can bounce back from the challenges in their lives with more will and zeal.
6. We all face good days and bad days, also we hear people consoling each other with the phrase- 'Have faith' every time someone is going through a tough time in their life But if someone feels upset, sad, hopeless or anxious for a long, they must seek therapy. Therapy is not a mental condition-specific treatment; it is a valuable way, method or tool that one must use to balance mental wellness. In the cases of people going through a divorce, a major life transition, the loss of a loved one, career issues, etc.
Is Therapy Stigmatised?
Despite the amount of benefits a therapy has, people have stigmatized it most of the time. Seeking help from a therapist is judged, as a weak person's escape, or considered an unnecessary exchange of personal issues with a mere stranger. What people have failed to realise is the strength of therapy, the importance of mental well-being and the need to eradicate the judgmental mindset. We shouldn't disregard the importance of our mental health and look after it as much as we do for our physical health.
Don't Hesitate to Seek Therapy
Therapy is an essential part of mental health since it offers a person with strength and assistance to manage the challenges in their life and navigate their emotions. Thus one's mental illness must not be neglected. If you know is sad or anxious for a prolonged time, going through a transition in life or struggling, you must reach out to them and help them in seeking professional help.
